PEAK: Sheffield
The objective was to (re)imagine the identity of a local bike hire scheme in a city of my choosing. This can be one that already exists or a new scheme.
One of the problems that I have discovered is that most bike hire schemes that exist today are all the same. This also applies to their design. What if the purpose of a bike hire scheme changed? This is where my solution comes into place. PEAK is a brand that targets not only tourists and city-goers but also focuses on mountain biking.
I have chosen to focus on a city within the UK. Sheffield is the most suitable location for this particular bike hire scheme. It is considered to be the greenest city in the UK and this is due to the Peak District which covers a third of the city.
There are several locations within this city that would encourage this activity such as Parkwood Springs, which is the only inner-city mountain bike trail in the UK.
