Behind the Scenes
As part of the 2024 Le Cordon Bleu Scholarship, I worked on a documentary project that followed the entire selection process—from opening applications to the final stages.
We began by opening applications to the public, reviewing each submission with care. From there, we selected 32 semi-finalists and conducted personal interviews to understand their passion and potential.
From these, 16 finalists were chosen. We traveled to visit them in their hometowns, capturing moments of their daily lives, their connection to food, and how they prepared for the upcoming scholarship challenge. It was an inspiring journey, filled with emotion, ambition, and the universal power of food.

We travelled across the country to visit them in their hometowns, stepping into their everyday worlds. We spent time in their kitchens, met their families and mentors, and saw firsthand the environments that shaped their passion for food.
Through honest conversations, we explored what food means to them — whether it was rooted in culture, family traditions, personal resilience, or ambition for a future in hospitality. We documented not only their technical preparation for the scholarship challenge, but also the emotional preparation — the nerves, the discipline, the sacrifices, and the determination behind the scenes.
It became more than just a competition. It was a story about identity, aspiration, and opportunity. An inspiring journey filled with emotion, ambition, and a powerful reminder of how universal and transformative food can be.
